Recognition

With such increasing interest in insect research, it was an
honor that our organization was given the privilege to host
the 4th International Conference for Butterfly
Exhibitors and Suppliers in 2000. It is through years of
uncompromising research and development that earn our
organization the recognition of being the pioneer in its
field.
Within our organization we distribute our effort in
participating and collaborating with many wildlife related
organization such as:
-
MAZPA
(Malaysian Association of Zoological Parks & Aquaria),
-
MNS
(Malaysia Nature Society),
-
SEAZA
(South East Asian Zoological Association),
-
SASI
(Sonoran Anthropod Studies Institute), USA.
-
IABE
(International Association of Butterfly Exhibitions)
-
ICPS
(International Carnivorous Plant Society)
-
ARNIZE
(Asia Region Networking of International
Zoo Educator)
-
ICBES

Suppliers)
It
is through these association and organization that we
receive and contribute information on research, breeding,
education and development of the insect kingdom to be shared
to the whole world.
While Penang Butterfly Farm being one of a kind tourist
related project, it is a thriving example of the private
enterprise assisting a state industry (tourism)
development. Because of Mr. Goh’s contributions to this
area of development, the farm was awarded a Certificate of
Merit in 1990 by the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism
of Malaysia for being the Best Tourist Attraction. In 1991,
the farm was awarded the Special Commendation Gold Award by
PATA. Then in 1996, in the Tourism Industry Inaugural
Award, the farm was awarded the Best Tourist Attraction by
the Penang State Government and the Penang Tourist Center.
Little did Mr. David Goh realize that his boyhood obsession
would lead to a multimillion dollar business in the tourism
industry and an international scientific reputation.
